Help us create a roar around the world for CHD awareness!  Approximately 1 in every 110 babies will be born with a congenital heart defect (CHD), making it the most common birth defect in the USA; 25% of them will need heart surgery or other interventions to survive.  By participating in the 2016 Roar 'N Run Virtual Charity Race, you can bring awareness to CHD and help raise funds to provide Bravery Bags and other support services to families in the hospital.

This is a virtual run that you can do anywhere, anytime during CHD Awareness Week (February 7-14).  You can pick your own distance of a 5k, 10k, half or full marathon.  All funds go back to National Mended Little Hearts to support the Bravery Bag program.  You can register by clicking the following link and selecting the Mended Little Hearts of San Antonio team https://www.crowdrise.com/samantha-roarnrunvirtualrace/fundraiser/samanthaklinges

Mended Little Hearts of San Antonio is excited to participate in this years Big Give SA on May 5, 2015.  The event is an online event where non profits can raise funds for a 24 hour period in a single day.  The funds received go directly to the children of the group.  One of the projects that our group is focusing on are the bravery bags that will be handed out to children who are hospitalized to correct their cardiac defect.  These bags provide comfort to not only the child in the hospital, but for the parent as well.  Each bag costs our group approximately $12.  Funds are also used to provide meals at our monthly meetings and other large events.  Please help in donating by following the link  https://thebiggivesa.org//#npo/mended-little-hearts-of-san-antonio

You can help by posting on your Facebook page, Twitter using #BGSA2015 and #GiveLocal2015, and sharing this email to your family, friends and co-workers.  Some employers do matching when it comes to nonprofit donations.
